We got the surprise explosion box for my daughter's 20th birthday while she was away at college. What a flop. When she opened the box, flowers and butterflies simply spilled out onto the table. After a few seconds a few of the butterflies just spasmed and flopped on the table for less than a second as if they were wounded and dying. Silence. She said the cake was ok, though

SendACake is such a beautiful and amazing idea! The instant the box opened, the beauty of the butterflies was stunning! The cake left a lot to be desired, which to me should be just as magnificent as the SendACake reveal. The cake was super dry, which made the strawberry shortcake taste very stale. As the cake is the defining, center of the gift, I believe the choice of the baker is integral and may need to be reconsidered (specific to my order #7045481), as there is no reason there should not be a soft and delicious cake, to make the SendACake a homerun! I would rate this a 3.5 out of 5, because of the dry cake. Thank you, however, for the fun surprise!!!

I was looking for something unique to send my father for his birthday. He is incredibly hard to shop for. I kept seeing this in my FB feed and decided to give it a try. The shopping process was easy, and one of the best things was the ability to schedule delivery on his birthday. My shipment arrived on that day as promised. The day of his birthday I received a text message from my dad with a video of him opening the gift. His reaction was absolutely priceless!!! He was so surprised and tickled when the butterflies came out of the box. I got a big thumbs up... Literally. He loved this gift so much that he has been very selective about who he tells about it so he can send it and make sure they're surprised too.

It's very hard to shop for someone turning 90. I saw your website and thought "What a unique and fun gift!". I did warn my mom ahead of time that there was going to be a surprise. Second time ordering and again, I was very impressed! The last order was received 2 days early (via FedEx) which was ok since the shipping boxes do not really "conceal" the surprise inside. I loved the product but I felt the cake was a little small. It was the size of a hostess cupcake. At least enough for my sons wife to have a piece also would have been nicer but all in all I loved the product.

It was perfect for one person and because no one expected it to be larger it was fine. That could be resolved by making sure the buyer knows that this particular cake is only for one person.

This was unique, a great surprise. I have one minor complaint, and one suggestion for future purchasers. First, this was great. The cake is tiny, but I didn't order it for the cake. The flowers and butterflies were great! The gift was a hit! Minor complaint - the package was delivered while I wasn't home, and my wife (the recipient) received it. It had "Send-a-Cake" all over the packaging, so she had an idea what it was. I would recommend that the company send it without the logos. Suggestion - when my wife opened it, she had her hand on one side of the box, effectively keeping 3 of the 4 sides from opening when she took the lid off. Make sure that the person opening it is only holding the top of the box and not the sides in order to get the full effect. I recommend this gift with the explosion effects. Very creative and original!
